Your enjoyment of SAMF is our first priority, and the times of your life are straight ahead. Enter our sunny world with a reminder to have fun and be safe. The health of our SAMF fam is of utmost importance to us.
The most rewarding moments are those we share with our community of fellow music lovers. Few things in life are better than the feeling you get when hearing the tunes you love with friends old and new, so stay present and listen to your personal rhythm. Make the most of SAMF by using the following safety information June 7th-9th including ample water and relaxation.
All that non-stop dancing and vigorous physical activity can lead to dehydration and overheating. By all means have the time of your life, but remember to stay hydrated and drink plenty of water. We have made free water available, so you can refill empty containers and keep up the party. Hydrating backpacks and reusable water bottles are allowed, but they must be empty, non-multi-pocket, and are subject to search upon entry.
Replenish vital electrolytes with sports drinks offered at concession stands, or visit the Celebrate Safe booth to pick-up free packs you can add to your water bottle.
Be prepared for the temperature to change from day to night, check the forecast and bring layers of clothing.
After throwing it down on the floor, take a break from the heat of the moment to cool down at one of our designated cooling areas.
It’s easy to get separated at festivals. Know where your friends are, set up meeting points, and stick together. If you think a friend needs help, ask our friendly staff to assist, and always leave the show with everyone in your crew. Familiarize yourself with the medical tent locations, available in the mobile app and maps on site.
You can enjoy the show without alcohol or illegal narcotics. Choose to take nothing at all. If you’re under 21, you can’t drink – period. Please remember that your body weight and height will factor into how much alcohol is safe to consume. Alcohol does not cool you off or rehydrate you.
Please exercise caution when you get behind the wheel. Don’t drink or use drugs and drive. Make sure you have a safe ride. Take a cab, have a designated driver or use Uber. If you drink, your blood alcohol concentration is personal depending on your gender, weight, and how much has been consumed in a period of time. Play it safe!
BE A FRIEND
Help fellow festival goers, be a friend indeed to a friend in need. Contact a staff member, medical personal or security officer if you see a person who is showing any signs of distress which may include: nausea, vomiting, headaches, blurred vision, racing heartbeat, shallow breathing, muscle tremors, inability to talk, or discolored lips.
Help Keep Fellow Festival-Goers Safe
Never leave someone alone who’s feeling sick or has expressed that they’re unwell. If you suspect somebody is ailing from a drug-related issue, seek immediate medical attention.
Don’t sweat it, according to the Good Samaritan Act, a person who experiences a drug-related overdose or seeks help on their behalf cannot be prosecuted or penalized.
No one will ever get in trouble for asking for help for themselves or someone else if their well-being is a concern.
Whether you need to cool down, rehydrate with electrolytes, or could simply use some aspirin, band-aids, or earplugs; we have medical personnel located on-site for YOU. Near every stage, look for First Aid stations marked with a red cross scattered around the festival grounds. You are welcome to visit for any health-related issues.
If you happen to see the medical team, roaming Health & Safety Team around the festival grounds, give them a smile! These workers stay on their feet for the entirety of every event to keep a watchful, caring eye on you! And if either you or a friend has a medical concern, flag one of those friendly folks down.
Again, no one will ever get in trouble for concerns over someone’s well-being, including your own, even if it is drug or alcohol related.
We’re all responsible for everyone’s well-being. Don’t forget to give back to the community and take care of one another.
Special designated platforms located throughout the festival grounds are reserved for people with disabilities throughout the venue. Companion seating will be available at designated platform locations. Please note, companion seating is limited and will be available at a first-come, first-served basis. Swing by our Guest Services/Info booth upon entry for more information on locations and for additional assistance.
Additional questions regarding accessibility can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Special designated lanes for entrance and egress will be available at the festival. Special designated lanes will be clearly identified for the convenience of our disabled patrons.
Accessible portable restrooms are available throughout the venue.
